On February 25, Ambassador Hrachya Poladian, received the Spiritual leaders of the Baghdad and Basra Assyrian Orthodox communities Bishop Siorios Havana, as well as the leader of the Baghdad Assyrian Catholic community, the Deputy Patriarch of the Basra and Gulf States, F. Bishop Afram Yusuf Abba, accompanied by the Leader of the Armenian Catholic community in Iraq, F. Nerses Zabarian.

Leaders of Assyrian churches welcomed Ambassador's appointment in Iraq, wishing him new successes during his diplomatic mission. Afterwards, the Assyrian spiritual leaders presented works aimed at strengthening the cooperation between national and religious minority communities in Iraq, underlining that the Armenian Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church in Iraq and its leader, the archbishop Asaturian's invaluable role in this work, especially during the war and its subsequent period.

Conveying their greetings and wishes to His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians, Holy Fathers underlined the importance of the state support of the Iraqi authorities on religious and ethnic minorities in Iraq, highlighting the Armenian-Assyrian centuries-old friendship, as well as the need for the development of cultural and spiritual ties between the two peoples and sister churches.
