Ambassador of Armenia to Iraq Hrachya Poladian met with Iraqi Minister of Trade Mohammed Hashim Abdul Majeed. Welcoming Ambassador Poladian, Minister Abdul Majeed noted that currently favorable conditions have been created to have mutual progress in trade-economic volumes.

The parties touched upon the prospects of cooperation in the Armenian-Iraqi bilateral relations, pointing out that participation in the business conferences and in mutual economic exhibitions is crucial for this purpose. Minister Abdul Majeed, in particular, underlined the importance of of attendance of Armenian companies in the Baghdad International Economic Forum which will be held in October 2019. It was noted that there is a great potential for increasing the volumes of trade, especially in case of opening a land route from Armenia to Iraq in the future.

During the meeting, the parties agreed to properly prepare for the 3rd session of the Armenian-Iraqi intergovernmental commission at the end of the year, revising the relevant legal documents.
