On 11th, April 2019, Embassy of the Republic of Armenia in Iraq for the first time hosted an event dedicated to the 150th anniversary of the famous Armenian writer Hovhannes Tumanian. The event was attended by 30 schoolchildren of the Armenian community in Baghdad. In his speech, Ambassador of the Republic of Armenia Hrachya Poladian emphasized the utmost importance of holding that kind of events and the chance to strengthen ties with the Motherland. At the festive event, Minas Seraytaryan, one of the schoolchildren was handed over a diploma as a Winner of the Drawing Contest in Yerevan by the name of the Minister of Education and Science of Armenia, Mr. Arayik Harutyunyan.
Representatives of Armenian Diocese in Iraq and Armenian community had also taken part in the aforementioned event.
