On April 15, Ambassador of Armenia to Iraq Hrachya Poladian met with Iraqi Minister of Higher Education and Research, Dr. Qusay Al-Suhail.
During the meeting, the sides discussed a number of issues of mutual interest in the fields of higher education and science. In particular, Ambassador Poladian stressed the importance of signing the Memorandum of Understanding (circulation started in 2018) in the field of higher education and science between Armenia and Iraq in the near future. Taking into account the great interest of the citizens of Iraq in studying in Armenian universities as well as their large number in Armenia, during the meeting interlocutors touched upon the issues of recognition of diplomas of Armenian universities, including Yerevan State University and Yerevan Medical University after Mkhitar Heratsi in Iraq. The parties have agreed to organize reciprocal visits to resolve the aforementioned issues.
Minister Al-Suhail expressed great satisfaction with the proposals made by the Armenian Ambassador to deepen cooperation, expressing willingness to develop further cooperation between the two friendly countries in the field.
